Summer in Dubai gets a bad press. 42°C, humid, half the expat population on holiday elsewhere. And yet — some of our most satisfied guests specifically choose June through September. Here’s why.
The Honest Conditions
It is hot. Not “a bit warm” hot — genuinely uncomfortable outside between about 10am and 7pm in July and August. The humidity in the Marina and coastal areas makes it feel worse. No point softening that.
What changes it: Dubai is engineered for indoor life. Every mall, restaurant, attraction, and hotel lobby is aggressively air-conditioned. The underground metro connects most of what you need without stepping outside. The city functions perfectly well at 42°C — it just requires different habits.
What You Get in Return
Space. The beach clubs, usually packed from October onwards, are noticeably quieter. The Burj Khalifa observation deck — no queuing. Restaurants take walk-ins. The best properties are available on short notice.
Price. Summer rates on premium apartments in Dubai can be 30–40% lower than peak season. The same property you’d fight to book in January is available at a fraction of the cost in July.
Indoor experiences at their best. Ski Dubai, the Dubai Aquarium, IMG Worlds of Adventure, indoor karting — if your itinerary is built around these, summer is actually ideal.
Who Summer Works For
Families with flexible school holidays. Remote workers who want a premium base for a month at off-peak rates. Couples who want a quieter, more private experience in one of the world’s great cities. Groups where the pool terrace and private space matter more than outdoor sightseeing.
