Dubai has more restaurants per square kilometre than almost any city on earth. That’s part of the problem — knowing what’s actually good takes time most visitors don’t have. Here’s what our team recommends to guests, by occasion.
For a Special Evening
Nobu at Atlantis — the Dubai outgrowth of the global brand is consistently excellent. Book the wagyu. Ossiano, also at Atlantis, is genuinely special if you want something theatrical — dinner surrounded by a floor-to-ceiling aquarium. These require advance booking, particularly on weekends.
For Rooftop Views
Nusr-Et by Salt Bae (if the spectacle appeals) and CÉ LA VI at Address Sky View are both strong choices for cocktails followed by dinner with a view. COYA on Al Maryah Island is newer and worth the trip for the Peruvian menu and atmosphere.
For Something Local
Head to Deira for the real thing. Al Ustad Special Kabab has been serving the same menu for decades and for good reason. The fish market in Deira is one of those Dubai experiences that feels completely removed from the modern city — worth a morning, followed by breakfast at one of the surrounding cafés.
For Families
Eataly at Dubai Mall handles a big group without chaos. The food is consistently good, the kids’ options are proper and not an afterthought, and the size of the space means you’re not crowding out other diners.
Skip the Queue, Book the Chef Instead
For a private occasion — anniversary, birthday, a group who’d rather not navigate a restaurant — First Class can arrange a private chef to cook at your apartment. Multi-course dinner, built around your group, full cleanup included. Ask our team for details, or browse our properties with full kitchen facilities to make it work.
